OVERVIEW ------------------------

The objective of the school is to train middle-level management manpower in business-related fields for industry and commerce as well as government and non-governmental organizations and agencies.

The School of Business and Management Studies comprises five academic departments. These are the Department of Secretaryship and Management Studies, Department of Accountancy, Department of Marketing, Department of Purchasing and Supply and the Department of Language and Liberal Studies.

STAFFING ------------------------

The entire school has a total workforce of sixty-six, out of which 55 are academic staff.. The remaining eleven are administrative and technical support staff.

PROGRAMME OF STUDY -------------

The school offers HND programmes in Secretaryship and Management Studies, Bilingual Secretaryship and Management Studies, Accountancy, Marketing and Purchasing and Supply.

In addition, the school is reintroducing Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) in Accountancy and Secretarial options.

STUDENT ENROLMENT ----------------

The school has a total enrolment of Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Nine HND students. The breakdown is presented in Table One.

PLANS -----------------------------------

Five departments in the school have completed programme structures and syllabus ready to commerce Bachelor of Technology programmes. The Department of Language and Liberal Studies that is the main Servicing department for the whole institution is also ready to start an HND programme in Advertising and Promotion. The structure and syllabus for the programme have been submitted to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for the requisite accreditation.
